This Fascial Counterstrain of the Lymphatic/Venous system (FCS LV) has been developed by Brian Tuckey, and explores the newly discovered entity of lymphatic / venous dysfunction. This condition, identified by the presence of lymphatic and venous tender points, is essentially a vasospasm of the large lymphatic/ venous vessels of the body. Symptoms include myalgia, tendonitis, bursitis of all kinds, headaches, sinusitis and most fluid related conditions such as sinusitis and lymphedema are related to venous & lymphatic dysfunction. Treatment of this type of vascular dysfunction using FCS restores the normal "pump mechanism" of the lymphatic system and dramatically improves venous drainage in the affected areas including the spinal cord and cranial base. Patients typically report instant pain reduction and notice a marked reduction in edema / fluid symptoms immediately after applying these techniques.
Outline:
• Physiological rationale for vascular dysfunction
• Anatomy and Physiology of the Lymphatic and Venous Systems
• Research regarding the contractile properties of Lymphatic System and fascia
• Clinical signs and symptoms of venous and lymphatic dysfunction
• FCS techniques to correct venous/lymphatic dysfunction of the trunk, extremities, organs and regional bursae.
• Over 80 newly developed techniques will be presented for spinal cord.
Goals/Objectives:
• Improve knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology and function of the Venous & Lymphatic System
• Learn to recognize lymphatic and venous dysfunction in the body
• Gain proficiency in the treatment of venous & lymphatic dysfunction utilizing newly developed Strain and Counterstrain techniques.

This is a 3 day course featuring Brian Tuckey, PT (Physiotherapist), OCS, JSCCI, an internationally recognized expert and instructor in the manual therapy technique known as Fascial Counterstrain. Brian Tuckey will lecture the course from the U.S. via Zoom, with Teaching Assistant Syed Hussain physically present to assist students.
Foundations of “Fascial Counterstrain” (FCS) is your entry level course into the amazing world of neuro-fascial dysfunction. This class, which acts as the pre-requisite course for the recently developed FCS series, will provide students with approximately 10 of the most powerful techniques from each class in the Fascial series.
Mr. Tuckey is one of only 4 physical therapists in the United States to be personally certified to teach Strain and Counterstrain by famous osteopathic physician Dr. Lawrence Jones D.O., the originator of Strain and Counterstrain technique. As of 2016, Mr. Tuckey has personally innovated over 600 of the treatment techniques taught at the Jones Institute, expanding the curriculum from 220 techniques to over 800. The expanded curriculum is now called “Fascial Counterstrain” due to its unique ability to impact and treat all of the body’s fascial systems including the vascular, visceral, nervous and musculoskeletal systems. This multi-system approach is unique in the world of manipulation giving it unparalleled diagnostic and curative capacity. Fascial Counterstrain is currently being taught to a rapidly expanding audience of medical professionals all over the world.

Fascial Counterstrain Visceral Course participants will learn approximately 65, newly developed techniques that alleviate abnormal soft tissue tension in the peritoneal cavity, pelvic cavity, thorax, visceral vascular system and associated fascia. These techniques will address viscerospasm, and hypertonicity of the visceral ligaments and vasculature which are responsible for many common complaints such as cervical pain, lumbar pain, sciatica, medio-scapular pain, and irritable bowel syndrome, gerd and more. Newly published research regarding the sensory and contractile properties of fascia and fascial proprioceptors will be reviewed as a physiological rationale.
Outline:
- Origin of Visceral SCS
- Overview of Visceral Anatomy
- Research regarding the sensory and contractile properties of fascia
- Clinical Applications of Visceral SCS
- SCS techniques for the pleural dome, thoracic viscera, upper abdominal viscera, lower abdominal viscera, pelvic viscera, and associated fascial tissues.
Goals/Objectives:
- Improve knowledge of visceral anatomy
- Improve knowledge of the visceral vascular system
- Learn to recognize visceral dysfunction in the body
- Gain proficiency in the treatment of visceral dysfunction utilizing newly developed Strain Counterstrain techniques
